Last weekend members of the Caio Terra Association headed to Nevada for the 2014 IBJJF Las Vegas Summer International Open. Affiliates from California, Arizona, and Canada made the journey, and at the end of the day CTA finished in 4th place. Considering we have no affiliates in Nevada and our association is just over 2 years ago this is an outstanding accomplishment!
From Black belt to White, Adult to Master 3, the display of technique was amazing. In the Black belt division, Samir Chantre secured his 5th Las Vegas Int’l Open title in his weight division. Balancing working full time, being a new father, and training, Manny Diaz made his Black belt debut taking home 3rd in a tough division. The Brown and Purple belts displayed great performances, securing many 1st and 2nd place finishes. The Blue and White belts represent the future of the team and did outstanding as well. The effort they exhibit in competition today will pave the way for much more future success.
