This past weekend the IBJJF recognized me for winning a record 10 no gi world titles! Although I am proud of this, overall this past weekend was a bitter sweet one. I had high exceptions going into the 2019 IBJJF No Gi Worlds and as the week unfolded I saw the hopes and dreams of many of my students end in disappointment. They worked hard, prepared well but things didn’t turn out the way we had hoped for. I am proud of everyone who competed and tested themselves. As in life, when we have set backs, we readjust, refocus and above all else never stop chasing our dreams!
Thanks to everyone from the respective gyms who helped all the athletes prepare. Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend to cheer and support the teams as well. Jiu Jitsu is truly a team sport and I’m blessed that my team is also my family.
