This year at pans Leo Wang of Forest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in China, met with Professor Caio Terra. Leo, who travels a lot to the United States to compete and train was looking for an affiliation that he felt was in line with his personal beliefs and the goals of his business.
Last weekend was the 2019 IBJJF World Championship held in Long Beach, California. This year the team prepared well and everyone from camp was sharp and ready to go. In the end, Mikey Musumeci, who did his camp in San Jose, made history, winning worlds for the 3rd time and getting the fastest submission in finals history!
Caio Terra Academy, Forest Grove, was founded by Shawn Chandler and head instructor Tracy Danielson. Tracy started training Jiu Jitsu in 2013 and received his purple belt in 2018. He has been assisting at the Hillsborough location 2 years prior to opening up Forest Grove
This past weekend the team headed down to Irvine, California for the 2019 Pan Jiu Jits Championship. Although not everybody won, the lessons, experiences and memories made will last a life time! Last weekend Professor Caio Terra traveled to Roseburg, Oregon to celebrate the grand re-opening of Performance Martial Arts Academy Roseburg. While he was there he awarded Ben Baxter his over due third degree making him Professor Ben Baxter!

With less than 3 weeks notice, 2 time ADCC Champion Yuri Simoes came in as last minute replacement for UFC Champion Fabricio Werdum in the EBI Absolute combat Jiu Jitsu tournament.
As 2019 began the future of CTA competed at the 2019 IBJJF Kids Pans! The bulk of the competitors came from Team Alpha Miami lead by Carlos Sainz, BJ Pen training center lead by Kim Terra and Mike Martin from Strong Heart Academy. At the end of the day new friends were made, every one had great memories and experiences that will last a lifetime and we took home two team trophies!
This past weekend CTA Athletes Joey Tayler, Kaniela Kahuanui, Zandra Fountilla and Yuri Simoes took the the fight to win stage.
Joey Taylor from CTA Affilaite Costa Jiu Jitsu fought well but came up short of the goal, I’m sure he will learn from this and come back even stronger.
