Hard work, dedication and team work was the theme heading into the 2015 World Jiu Jitsu Championships. The team came prepared (huge thanks to Professor Comprido for running camp) and when it was over, no matter their individual outcomes, they never stopped working! The very next day most of the CTA athletes were back in the gym preparing for the next challenge. That challenge came in the form of the 2015 All Star tournament held in Santa Cruz, California.
In addition to medals the all star tournament, like all bjj tour tournaments, offers cash prizes and trophies for the team and adult black belt champions. Despite a smaller team then usual, CTA took home first in the adult division, and placed first overall earning us a trophy and a check for $500! We also managed to take home a third place trophy for masters and seniors! Black Belt Yuri Simoes and Samir Chantre both took home $500 for winning their divisions and Yuri took home an additional $1000 for winning the absolute. Most importantly every one supported each other!
Congratulations to everyone who competed, thanks for everyone who supported, and onto the next one! Lets go CTA!
