Yesterday I was at Sensei studio for a seminar and was surprised with a story from the instructor, Tony Caito.
He said he had a few moments in life that he regretted. As a parent we always want the best for our children, and when his son Anthony was a kid he started his jiu jitsu journey. He started asking around to see what he could do to help his son improve as he was getting good and had tons of potential. Someone had told him about an amazing guy from Brazil who had just came to America and sees jiu jitsu different.
The problem was there was another family that lived in the same apartment complex as them and who heard this advice. Their son was a little more gifted than Anthony in football, jiu jitsu, etc. A week went by and Tony was dismayed to learn that this other family took their son to the new Brazilian guy. Not wanting to go to the same teacher he looked elsewhere but he always regretted not taking his son to learn from the Brazilian.
That other kid was Jordan, and he was a phenom and a good person. The Brazilian guy was me. Tony ended the story by saying his family at Sensei studios is like his second family and he doesn’t want the same regret of not giving the opportunity for them to learn from me. For Tony’s son, Anthony, it also worked out as today he is a talented black belt in his own right and instructor at the Meraki Academy. All things are as they should be.
When some one joins CTA they do more than buy into branding, they trust their lively hold , their families, and their students in my care. This isn’t something I take lightly, it’s a huge responsibility and an even bigger honor. I’d like to extend a huge welcome Tony Caito and the Sensei studio family into CTA!! Let’s go!!
