This past weekend CTA Athletes Mason Fowler and Benji Silva flew out to Atlantic City for the 2021 ADCC East Coast Trials. This was the biggest trials in the history of ADCC with some divisions having over 200 competitors.
At the end of day 1 both Benji and Mason were left standing! Benji had made it to the sweet 16 and knew that the road to the final would be a difficult one. Not deterred he came out on fire but unfortunately fell a little short in the Overtime round. He will be back and we look forward to his continued success at the West Coast trials!
Mason, who had an invite waiting for him, decided to compete anyway! After 5 matches not a single point was scored against him and he took home the gold. He has been on an absolute tear since 2019, compiling a record of 25-2 and defending the submission underground belt a record 8 times!
Congrats guys, lets continue to work to finish out 2021 strong!
